- Football, Whitehaven Cup: Parton Juniors v Cleator Moor Celtic. Referee did not turn up, so a local man was appointed. Juniors scored once in first half (Fisher) and once in 2nd (Ferguson). Celtic protested that one goal scorer was offside. Result 2-1.
- Congregational Sunday School treat in the "beautifully decorated" schoolroom, Fri. Games & community singing, followed by supper. Rev. J.R. Howarth as Santa Claus distributed from his sack some 80 toys sent from Congregational HQ.

Instead, a sub-committee was appointed to investigate the financing problem. Noted that "Cumbrians have always shown a decided aptitude for the handling rather than the dribbling code".
