THE VINLAND MAP A SHORT SUMMARY The day before April 1 2004, I published a short, cheaply produced, but remarkable book about the Vinland Map, written by a group of students in another universe where nearly everybody recognised that the map was an amusing and ingenious fake. Although the remarkable book was itself, of course, a hoax, all the evidence it contained about the Vinland Map was genuine, including some which had been known for decades but was in danger of being forgotten, and some which was new- but ought to have been known for decades.
